With our Global Climate Expert Network, we are able to support youth on our programs with the wisdom, perspective and experience of more than 300 experts from across the globe. And we are always looking for more people to join. Your perspective on the most interesting projects, policies, innovations, site visits and organizations helps our students stay at the forefront of the of the most relevant, cutting-edge work happening to tackle the climate crisis. Students who join our FOCUS programs are seeking an accelerated climate-focused learning experience. By sharing your expertise with us, you are directly helping young people prioritize climate change in that critical moment when they start asking:

Where should I go to college? Should I even go college? What should I study? Why does it matter?

All FOCUS programs connect students with experts and volunteer opportunities across multiple sectors. This helps our cohorts not only see a diversity of factors in the climate system, but also helps shape what piece of the system they want to focus their future studies and career path on. For example: academia, policy, transportation, manufacturing, renewable energy, conservation, forestry, community organizing, philanthropy, agriculture, etc.
We are always looking for recommendations on the most interesting and relevant climate-focused experiences for us to consider integrating into our programs. You can either just provide a list of countries in this section, or share something more specific like this: INDIA - The People's Science Institute in Dehradun is doing excellent work, I know one of their founders Dr. Chopra.
Which FOCUS role do you most strongly identify with?
At FOCUS, we build our youth cohorts and our curriculum around four key roles that we need stronger collaboration among in the larger climate movement. This framework helps young people understand how their skills, interests and passions translate directly into assets they can bring to teams, organizations and companies, and why other people's perspectives are critical in developing solutions.
Mentorship
Do you have any interest in joining our mentor network? When students join a FOCUS program, part of what they also receive is ongoing alumni support when they return home from living abroad. This means that our alumni team supports them in things like choosing their major, picking the right college, finding internships and volunteer opportunities. As students get deeper into their studies and enter into the early stages of their career, they can often benefit from a mentor who has similar backgrounds, interests and skills.
